Construction group to see record profits
21/12/2007
Construction firm The Harrison has announced it expects its pre-tax profits to once again top the £6 million mark.
In the face of ominous predictions from some market analysts, the construction company nonetheless looks set to end the year on a high, building further on last year's record high results.
The continued growth in profits is expected to strengthen the Yorkshire-based developer's market presence, likely leading to new recruitment drives in the new year.
Harrison financial director Ann Scott said pundits who had predicted sluggish performance from the group had been entirely misguided and she predicted further expansion of the company.
She told the Northern Echo: "With a number of major projects in the pipeline for 2008 and beyond - and our £100m Friarsgate scheme in Lichfield contributing significantly to profits in 2009 - the future looks good."
The privately-owned group recently moved its headquarters from Malton to the Chocolate Works in York - the former base of Terry's Chocolate.
