NHS development could create construction jobs

27/08/2008

New construction jobs could be created by the announcement of a £23 million NHS building project, according to a source.

United House has been handed the contract to carry out building work to redevelop two NHS staff accommodation sites, reports Contract Journal.

Work will take place at accommodation for Surrey's Redhill hospital and London's Royal Free hospital, the source states.

Paul Nicholls, strategic relations director for the construction company, told the publication: "The award of the work is testament to the quality of United House’s work on NHS sites throughout London and the South East."

The scheme is set to create construction and building jobs in the areas and will take around four years to complete.

Meanwhile, a recent announcement of redevelopment in south Yorkshire could also create more jobs, reports thecareerengineer.com.

The website claims a new 4,000-home community is set to be built near Catcliffe.ADNFCR-1196-ID-18751469-ADNFCR
